I’m Phill Hellewell and have been in business as P&M Software since 1995, and full time since 2000. Westray Digital Art was a spin off from P&M Software.
My background is in engineering management, having worked in industries as diverse as biscuit bakeries and steel works. My last role being Principal Engineer at one of McVities bakeries.
I started trading as P&M Software in 1995 to market a maintenance management software application that I had developed to help me with my work in maintenance management.
This software has been sold all over the world into some large and well known companies, as well as many smaller companies. My years producing and promoting this product, primarily via the Internet, have provided me with valuable marketing and sales experience.
In the course of marketing and promoting P&M Software I had always maintained my website myself (after all it was software that I was selling)
Through all of this I have always had a keen interest in photography and art.
Since our move to Westray I have found myself combining my two passions of computer technology and art to create Westray Digital Art.
This was initially as an outlet for my digital artwork, but over time I have swung the emphasis of my business from P&M Software to Westray Digital Art in the form of web design.
Over the last few years I have been privileged to have the opportunity to work on several web designs/redesigns for businesses in Westray, Orkney Mainland and further afield (see my portfolio).
I’m now doing work that I love, combining my knowledge and experience in programming with my love of digital art manipulation to produce web designs.
